John James McCargar
John first became involved with theater when he, on an idle Tuesday evening, decided to break habit and venture out to auditions for a show he was only fleetingly familiar with-- Calliope's Cyrano de Bergerac. He immediately fell in love with the idea of theater, and story-telling in general. When Calliope was faced with the difficult choice of losing artistic independence or ceasing to exist, he proposed the riskiest bet ever-- going financially independent. The half-baked plan hinged on his eclectic skill set, being able to pull everything together to keep what has become essentially a small business running. Pulling his previous experience in finance, web development, and administration he's concocted a semi-functional strategy, though luckily not alone. He is indebted to the awe-inspiring abilities of his fellow board members, and has full confidence that they have many years ahead bring Calliope shows to life.
John's theater experience includes unofficially assistant directing The Importance of Being Earnest, playing Rosencrantz in the last Calliope Scene Festival, and playing Quintus for Full Contact Theater Company's Titus Andronicus. He hopes to do more comedy in the future.
